On May 29, 2008 a fire devastated the Matt Brewing Company facility. MARCH Associates designed the reconstruction of the second floor canning area, a new warehouse, and the keg cooler utilizing green initiatives and energy efficient building methods. A closed-loop geothermal system was designed for heating and cooling, and lighting systems were installed and retro-fitted to control the lighting based on motion and occupancy. This significantly reduced the energy costs throughout the entire plant.
Charles A. Gaetano Construction served as the General Contractor along with qualified pre-selected subcontractors and suppliers who worked on a time and material basis to maintain the budget and schedule.
Total Renovation for Phase 1: 18,000 SF.
Total Renovation for Phase 2: 23,000 SF of Warehouse space and 5,000 SF for the new Cooler.
