The Building Condition Survey identified a number of deficiencies and many of the systems and materials were at the end of their useful life. As a result of the District’s commitment to this building, a comprehensive alterations/additions project took place, which extended the life of this building for the next 20-30 years.

Alterations included reinforcement of the roof structure, new roofing, complete replacement of the electrical system, replacement of the boilers and unit ventilators, various finishes and upgrades throughout, as well as renovation of toilet rooms to comply with ADA. Three (3) additions were constructed utilizing energy efficient systems and state-of-the-art technology to provide the necessary classroom and support spaces. Sitework included a new bus loop, expanded parking, connection of the sanitary system, and replacement of the playscape for ADA compliance.
